The Future of Protein
‘Protein’ has evolved significantly in recent years, and represents an ever greater innovation opportunity for Irish food & drink.
To understand its evolution, Bord Bia commissioned Kantar Consulting in Autumn 2017 to undertake an in-depth study of ‘protein’ in all its forms, in a number of markets including Germany, UK, Ireland, China and US. The study provides the industry with a future view on how protein will evolve across a breadth of sectors, landing on Pathways through which companies can innovate and differentiate within a crowded protein landscape.
The Protein Pathways have been developed with a view to driving competitiveness and facilitating NPD and commercial opportunities for Irish food and drinks businesses.
This sports nutrition study, conducted in conjunction with Core Research, covers markets including China, Germany, US, UK and Ireland. It is designed to drive the next phase of growth for the Irish nutritional supplements industry through greater market and consumer understanding.
The study maps the journey consumers under go from product discovery to what influences their decision to purchase and explores what consumers now expect from manufacturers of sports nutrition products.
